According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the most common workplace injuries requring days away from work were the result of sprains, strains and tears. More than 38% of the nation’s office and work injuries fell into these categories.
And improper lifting was often the culprit, as shown in the bureau’s chart.
They report that “overexertion in lifting and lowering” was the most common cause of back injury, with slips, falls, and other incidents also causing pain-inducing harm.
